” We shall take you to court” President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda threatens citizens

The President of the Republic of Uganda on the evening of April, 19 has threatened to arrest private car owners for breaking, violating and refusing to abide by the government’s directive to sit at home.

In order to control the spread of Covid-19, the President  enforced a compulsory lockdown for an initial 2 weeks and was forced to extend it for another 21 days as new cases were confirmed daily.

Those who were bribing and getting stickers for their private cars will now have their vehicles confiscated. He announced via his verified Twitter handle.

Considering the violation as an unloving act and conduct, Museveni said, “You are killing Ugandans by refusing to co-operate. We shall take you to court.

Although permission for medical cares and other necessities are allowed, government officials are taking bribes to issue these stickers.

In addition, Traffic officers are also guilty as they encourage movements of private vehicles on the roads thereby soliciting bribes from those willing to pay.
